Numpty warranty battle

I despair to any poor person who takes out extended warranties on anything including cars.
I friend foolishly was suckered into accepting extended warranty on a new Corrola - It was one of the, "if you dont make a claim we refund your money". About two months before his warranty ran out something went wrong on the car. He phoned up but in the end decided not to use it as the job would only cost £50 at his local delear.
Now his warranty has run out he is locked in a battle to get his money back becuase according to the company just phoning to enquire about using his warranty means he no longer qualifies for the cash back.
Anyone ever heard of this before?

Havent heard of this before, although these warranty people do seem to pick and choose what they cover.

Surely the fact he enquired means nothing, he didnt claim. Bet there is nothing in the small print explaining that!
