I want to adjust my headlamps downwards slightly as they seem to bother on-coming traffic who think I am on full beam all of the time! The only access is via the front grill on my '96 Chim, so it looks quite fiddly. Once the grill is off, is it easy? Could someone describe exactly how you adjust the headlamps?

I also need to replace one of the main beam bulbs and was hoping to get upgraded bulbs at the same time. Could someone suggest which ones are best?

Thanks in advance.

Jamie.

The front GRP cowl has to come off (may just be stuck, may be bolted through), the sealent that hides the adjustment screws removed, the headlamps adjusted and everything resealed and put back. Takes about 2- 3 hours.... providing you don break anything and the evrything wants to come off...

It's covered in bible 2.

Or some chims have an acces panel cut in the front wheel archso you can access the rear of the light without removing the cowl/fairing

Halve the time if this is the case

Except that the beam adjustment screws are at the front.... not at the back.... unless TVR have been changing the fittings again!!

Try the Philips VisionPlus H4's. They claim 50% more light.I fitted just one first to compare literally side-by-side, and yes they're much brighter.
You could also fit the Mod-wise 'brighter lights kit' which increases the headlamp wiring loom capacity.

www.mod-wise.com do them. Or probably any Philips bulb supplier. If you fit an upgraded headlamp loom you could fit rally lamps (www.powerbulbs.com). These are the ultimate in light power excepting proper xenon lights but they're illegal for normal road use (who would know?)
