As some of you may have seen in Top Marques, Talacrest have a 30k mile Argento 308GT4 for sale for £20k.

Two questions, 308GT4 - worth the money?

Talacrest - can they be trusted?

Cheers

Really? Where is it? What colour / spec? If it's SE I'd be ineterested in having a look.

308GT4 for £20k sounds very pricey to me, when as mentioned you can have a 'proper' 308, or a Mondial for the same money.

They've sold it.

Silver, 30k miles. Looked nice.

Pictures still there. Assume for £20k it was a minter.

I bought a cracking Dino 308 GT4 on 2nd January but I've decided to buy something more modern. If you're interested then give me a shout. With only 12,500 miles on the clock and if you like the colour scheme (which is original),I don't think you'll find a better one!

I know that I'm biased but I looked around before buying her. They may not be looked on as one of the better looking models but it drives beautifully and sounds really nice. (Advert in classified section).

Sorry if this sounds like a plug for my car.

Unusual colour, but I actually rather like it

I wasn't sure when I went to collect it, as the interior doesn't really seem what you'd choose for a silver exterior. I really quite like it now and it's pretty mint for a 25 year old car.

Oooops another plug - sorry again!

20k sounds v toppy. My 208GT4 cost me only 8,500 from a dealer in Italy. It was at the VG meet if you were there? Condition is A1.

When I was looking to buy, 12-15k seemed enough to get you a good 308GT4 from a dealer in the UK. Personally, I'd be wary of too low a mileage, these cars need to be used! Best bet would be low mileage with evidence of recent frequent use & servicing.

I agree completely. I had her inspected and rang the guys who had serviced her over the years before I bought mine.

The low mileage of 12,500 on mine,in 25 years, is very low but, as you say, I checked all the servicing records etc before buying. Although in recent years the car had only done about 50 miles between mots, everything works fine and I've had no problems. The garage picked up and re-delivered the car each time so they'd driven it and knew how well she drove.

As you say low mileage is fine so long as it's been well looked after. There are some poor examples out there though!
