Juddering .....

car when cruising has started to judder occasionaly....... felt it was about loose all power then corrected its self

is this something like the coil / ht leads breaking down .... or something more serious ?????

Some ideas would be helpful as car is in the garage next sat for service and corrective actions on some other issues.

Was the juddering at the same time as your fans kicked in?

nope.....

just pottling long 70 -80 mph then for split second juddered and then nothing again for an hour or two.

Mine was doing this, gradually got worse over time to the stage of cutting out in the outside lane of motorways I replaced the HT leads, dizzy cap, rotor etc, but still didn't fully rectify the fault. Eventually the car died totally and wouldn't restart, replaced coil and voila, all sorted! Car is now running stronger than ever, so if it's looking a little tired for the sake of £40 I'd replace the coil.

It could simply be a ht lead coming unplugged/ not quite sitting right. i have magnicors, where the number 8 cylinder keeps working itself loose, stuttering evey now and again. Have you given your leads a little 'fiddle'...

I had a similiar occurance when one of teh leads decided to short itself out on the manifold, found by looking in the engine bay in the dark and sparking found.

I'll get the garage to replace leads and coil when in for sevice
