Breaking my 280

After a long wait I have finally got the wedge back from the insurance company. It is now sitting on my drive looking very sad. Today I started to dismantle it. See my adverts in the Wedge and parts sections.
Most parts are available because the damage was just to the nearside door, the rear NS wing and the front spoiler.
The car was a genuine 39000 miler in show condition so everything I am selling is in excellent condition. Some of you will remember my telling the saga of fitting PAS over last winter so now I have a complete PAS kit for anybody who wants one!
Today I started at the back and worked forwards. I have taken off so far; rear lights, boot seal, boot lid, boot carpet, spare wheel cover, rear bumper, rear skirt, back silencer boxes, complete interior in brown vinyl & velour, offside door complete with window and motor. Next I will be moving onto the dash, heater, wiper motor etc. Then next week it's the engine, gearbox diff, brakes & other running gear.

If its any use I have a spare nearside door from a series 2 (if they are the same???) you can have if you wish to fix her up. Your welcome to it at nil cost (or I shall end up dumping it). Collection from Birmingham.

if the nearside door is damaged, can I have the rubber trim on the top of the door that sits against the window on the outside ? As I have islaid mine in my stripdown - rebuild

I'm definately breaking it, started already, thanks for the offer though.

Also, it seems to be taking ages to get my adverts posted, I submitted them yesterday evening, how long does it usually take?

Have just joined the site. Dont know how to email you direct but hopefully this will get to you. I am desperately looking for a Bosche Fuel Distributor for my 2.8i. I am refurbishing my 1981 2.8i wedge, has been off the road for the last 8 years and the Fuel Distributor is seized. Is your still for sale.

It's usually possible to unseize a fuel distributor, it just needs a good soak in petrol. Might also need to apply air or fuel pressure to the port on top of the dist. to blow the piston down. IIRC most of the bits are stainless so it's unlikely to be rusted, more likely stuck due to fuel varnish.
