Hi guys
recently got the o/h a Golf V5.... so now my problmes start!!....

I have today noticed a pool of red liquid under neath the car, not sure what it is but have my suspicions....

Where the drive shaft goes into the gearox it is damp, but unsure if this is coming from eleswhere without stripping apart.... NOW, not having any autobox experience, would it have a red oil?, it does not have an oil smell.

My gut feel is a seal has gone, does this car have a seal at the drive shaft end or could I be looking at larger problems?

Many thanks in advance
Gary

Both auto boxes and power steering have red oil.
Some makes of antifreeze are red but I trust you can tell red oil from red water.
Anywhere there is oil there will be seals to stop it getting out so your drive shaft seal is a strong contender.
I don't know the vehicle but would suspect a drive shaft seal replacement would not be that difficult and the seal not expensive.

Deffo sounds like ATF to me and yup its red.

Probably just a leaking seal- get it looked at asap.
