Hi,
My 1st post so here goes
Has anyone driven both the auto and manual 3200's and seen any marked differance in performance? Are there any spec differances between them?
I am leaning towards the auto as i want to use it as a daily driver in the city, but don't want to suffer in terms of performance compared to the manual.
Are the 0-62mph times similar?
I have read many posts and am still trying to figure out whether the auto version will be the wrong move.
I have driven the auto, but the dealer hasn't got a manual i can compare it to.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Cheers

Good taste!

Go the auto route definately, I have driven both and trust me you will not want a manual for town driving. The auto is a kitten in town and a tiger in sports mode when the fancy takes you. DO NOT turn off the traction control in the wet, and only when prepared in the dry. You will find that the auto will light up the traction lights just as easily as the manual.
Yes the manual is .2 of a second faster 0-60 but nowhere near enough to notice the difference between them.
What colour/spec you after?

Thanks for the reply.
Good to hear that its not a step backwards.
On kickdown, say 4th to 3rd does it still give you that "shove in the back" feel?

The beast is Sebring Blue with beige interior. 01 model, 1 owner, Full service history.
Looks the "Goods".

Cheers

I would have an auto over a manual purely because it is a more user friendly beast to pull away in. The auto you can release the brake pedal and the car drives forward on its own, you simply accelerate. The manuals can be a bit of a handful, especially in the wet.

Why not have a chaufer to go with it? An auto takes away a big part of a) the drama and b) the atual driving experience.

i test drove both before opting for the auto when i had mine. manual felt faster, throttle very on/off. however i found the pedals far too close together and had a real problem driving it (odd as i had a manual ghibli a few years back and no prob with that). Auto still has plenty of grunt, is probably slightly safer as its smoother but the dowside is its a boring oldfashioned box, and wasnt rewarding to drive "manually".
Definitely drive both....see what suits you best

Thanks for the comments.
I took the plunge and am now the proud owner of a 3200GTa.
The Dealer let me take the car for a "play around" by myself and thats all i needed to be convinced.
I have never had a car with so much power on tap so quickly.
@3200GT, i see what you mean about watching it in the wet. I have already had my first heart palpation

Cheers
