Has anyone got the definitive answer as to whether Water Wetter has any harmful side effects?
Some peeps seem to think it can be detrimental to seals, pumps etc
Other peeps seem to think it is the way forward...
I spend a lot of my time, when in traffic worrying about the temp of my Cerb...for no good reason as yet it has not let me down....but I like to grab any life line to relieve some of that worry...:-s

It may be that because teh water wetter reduces the surface tension of the water it makes it more likely to find bad seals / leaks that are just on the point of happening and makes it happen sooner? I don't know 'cos i've never seen the reports to which you refer (in fact it's the first time i've ever seen this mentioned) but it might be more likely to find leaks because of the way it works?

I think you have a bargain there! I had a quick peak at your profile and its says that you got your CERB for under £40 - and with wetter water!

I have added it to my cerb - I have also added the cooling chip. Had a few days of just wetter water and it was fab - car didnt go above an indicated 103. Went down quickly from there to mid 90s.
Now I also have the cooling chip then it stays at about 92 degrees (indicated).
The wetter water scare mongering will just be web based bull.
Get some ! Or worry about your car and chance a head gasket!

Not necessarily bull Gary. Coolant has additives in it to lubricate seals within the pump etc.
Removing the coolant can potentially cause problems with these. This is however, totally dependant on pump/seal design.
I've seen problems just from changing one type of coolant to another.
In all honestly you'd have to wait for someone to run wetter in a car for a good few thousand miles and see what happens. That said, running wetter for teh summer months and then changing back to coolant for the winter (which you'd have to do really) should prolong the life of components.

I have used the Millers version in my 400SE for use on hillclimbs, with no problems whatsoever. In fact at Back Home sat in the traffic on the Prom on Sunday, we had no issues at all. Assuming the rad is in tip top condition it is something to help keep it cool.
I have also put it in Howard Bryan's Tasmin Car 13 to help keep the old girl cool on the race track, and again it seems to help a treat.
Shop around though, £40 seems a triffle dear
