They are working on the A33 at the roundabout at the bottom of Rose Kiln Lane. They are scrapping the rounabout and making it a massive junction with lights. The idea is that traffic will flow better in and out of Reading.

What joy......they are going to last till December.

A word of warning for anyone coming in and out during the day...dont bother, it is a complete nightmare because it comes down to one lane and is totally shafting the whole area.

Seems OK in the mornings at the moment because it goes back to two lanes but for how long?????

Its no rumour, they will be lights.

John Howarth, of Reading Council, has promised that they'll 'help traffic flow'

Of course, it's nothing to do with inflicting congestion on the very road that the council have threatened congestion charges on?

they will probably stop you doing U turns there aswell so everyone whos been to the tip (or me who works at thames water next to the tip) will have to go up to the pc world roundabout to turn round and then get back on the A33

Yet more great reasons not to visit Reading.

If they introduce congestion charging they'll lose their "out of town" business to other, nearby, more car friendly towns - Basingstoke, Newbury, even Slough.

Basingstoke doesn't have congestion...and, thankfully, the Lib/Lab pact no longer has control so we're unlikely to see what Reading will likely suffer.

Not sure if this is still happening? There is now a barrier on the entrance and exit of the carpark...

Stragely nothing is activated yet. I think the Police actually prefer it to happen there. It's a good distance from house and generally safer than other local 'spaces'.

Was having a look a couple of weeks ago purely out of curiosity when a Scooby stacked into a crowd when finishing a donut. No serious harm done but still shows these things are pretty dangerous.

The carpark (especially the Currys, Hellfrauds side) has been trashed by the heat and the donughts - so I expect things to change...
