Windsreen Fitting

Hi All

I'm going to be fitting the windscreen to my Can-Am soon and wonder if you have any tips on fitting it.

Get a screen fitter to do it.
Reason is that the amount of adhesive, the shape of the bead and the position of the bead on the edge of the body all make for the correct seal without the stuff going everywhere. The most critical being on the inside as it is impossible to get at the inside edge to tidy it up. the outside can easily be filled and smoothed.
The GTR is definitely a 2 man job due to the curve of the screen. The full screen CanAm will likely be the same. My fitter had us make 4 dry runs so that we both placed the screen at the same time and position.

I fitted my screen on the GTR. Took a lot of us and careful prepping with bit of rubber to space it evenly. It's a fairly stressful operation given the costs of the bits and very fiddly. The pros seem to know what they are doing and have all the right stuff.

One point to note. With the GTR at least the screen is symetrical but the hole it is fitting into is most definitely not. You have to "manage" the gaps all round to get the best compromise. The Ultima body mould was definitely not cut in a CNC machine though everything looks very symetrical. The CanAm may be different with it being a completely different structure.
