Decided it was time to find where the exhaust was blowing on Sunday, as MOT due soon and he only passed it last year if I said I would fix it. So off comes the pipes but can't split from down pipes, so me thinks I'll split the down pipes from the manifolds, undo bracket on O/S manifold to be greated with a face full of metal and rust and about 2 inch of manifold missing, bugger!

Now my predicament is I have just realised the MOT is due on Saturday and the lead time for new manifolds via Tim at ACT is 2-3 weeks, anyone got any ideas where I might be able to get them quicker, I have to have the car back on the road for the 16th August absolute latest. Or alternatively does anyone have a spare O/S manifold I could purchase, as long as it's solid enough to get past the ticket inspector and last until the new manifolds come that would do me.

Greatful for any help any of you guys could give me.
Cheers

Whitty.

P.S Backhome was great although I couldn't help feel the S was a little under represented when compared to other models, where were all you other guys.

I went up on the Sunday. Leaving at 7, and parked up on the front. Factory tour at noon, and the Mrs said we need to go now.....
Not bad. 400 miles in the two days, and the temp stayed down too...

Thanks Micky, decided to go the whole hog and get new ones, just the frustration of waiting now while they come, and much crosing of things that it will pass the ticket when put right, and no snapped studs.

Remember a new set of bolts / nuts, which ever you have. There is no point putting the rusty ones back on.

got fed up waiting so a quik trip to the local motor factors and 1 exhaust bandage later and we are off to the MOT shop this morning. The potential for 2 Weeks more of this weather with no Tiv is killing me. Thankks for the tip on the bolts I was going to do that anyway. Anyone know if there is a gasket in there as well? and if so is it the standard Ford one?
