Just had a very brief play . . . hmmm . . . clunky, slow, overcomplex and terrible UI . . . certainly not a rawshooter equivalent to me so far . . . I'll persist a little but initial impression is like having your hands cut off compared to the speed and simplicity of rawshooter . . .

My sentiments entirely - it's exactly the same on the mac.

This I would have thought http://store.apple.com/Apple/WebObjec

Beta4 now available.
It supports the latest RAW producing cameras apparently.
I have never used RAW Shooter so it's difficult to comment but I like the results from 3 and the import thing is just for the image management surely? The image files can be left where they are, though I guess it affects performance.
4 has more functionality than 3 but seems clunkier at the moment. However the on screen images look fine and 3 seemed to print OK, not tried 4 yet. 4 seems to deal well with getting the white balance right (using Auto set) for some shots taken under mercury vapour lights - which is impressive, at least to me it is.
I tried ACDSee Pro a while back and liked that as far as I played with it. May go back to it again and do a back to back comparison.

I downloaded it, and deleted it 5 minutes later.
Am now patiently waiting for Aperture 1.5
