Adjust my shocks!

My wedge has Avo adjustable shocks fitted. Question is how do I adjust them?. The car is terrible over bumps so I'd like to see if it's possible to improve that.

The AVOs I've seen have had a knurled adjuster by the bottom mount. Some have two adjusters. Some have the adjuster on a remote reservoir.

They usually have 10 settings for damping. As V8S says, check for the location of the adjusting dial, which should turn easily by hand. Be careful to adjust them the same amount each side.

... and in the same direction! Went on a test drive a couple of years ago and after we'd adjusted them a few times we did a check and discovered the left and right were completely different. Easy to mix up your clockwise and anticlockwise when you're working left handed upside down out of sight.

Avo's : watch out the adjusters break !

Mine were 3 years old and I turned them back to zero and one of the two broke.. rebuilds are £15 per shock but the car is off the road..

If it's too hard then soften each side 2 clicks at a time until a good ride is achieved.

If one breaks at least both are adjusted about the same not like mine were - 1 soft one hard..
