Aircon compressor - where is it ?

Could someone help me out please and show me where the air con compressor is, as mine is re-gassed but still not cold have tried playing with the temperature adjuster but still not very cold (will try turn it down again later) but I've no idea where the compressor is and whether its working or not !

Its in the middle of the v at the front. looks like a stater motor with a pulley & belt on it.

there's also a pump in the passenger side front wing accessed via the panel inside the wheel arch

The thermostat adjustment will only help lower the temp if the clutch is cutting in and out.
If the clutch is engaged all the time then adjusting it will have no effect.

If it is cutting in and out it might also be the pressure switch on the drier bottle in the front passenfger wing.
It turns off if the system is under or over pressure

2 Questions....I just had mine regassed and it doesnt seem to have made a lot of difference.

1. The A/C seems to be cutting in and out a lot, a clicking noise every 10 seconds or so. Any ideas what is causing that, and how do I fic it.

2. The 'magic' knob on the A/C 'thermostat' (?) - in the driver footwell just in front of the door - that can be used to set the temperature. I believe you turn it clockwise to lower the temp, but by how much 1/2 turn. 1/4 turn or 4 turns - it is stiff so I'm a bit reluctunat to force it too much in case I break it.

think it is the pressure switch - you will probably find it is overheating. My aircon was cutting out a lot yesterday but is fine on a cooler day - so got home from work in lovely wet work shirt!
