911 childs booster seats
Discussion
The law is about to change regarding carrying children below a certain age and height in vehicles. In short they're going to need a full child seat or booster seat. The problem is that i've yet to find a booster seat which will fit securely in the rear seats of a 911. Consequently i'm unable to carry my children in the rear of the car without breaking the law, overlooking the fact the seats are only suitable children in the first place. I doubt plod will see the problem and cheerily wave me on my way, more like the usual £30 + points. If anyone knows of such a seat i'd appreciate the info. Cheers.
I was having this discussion with someone at work today. Although my kids are a little under 4' 5" I won't be using booster seats in the rear of the 996. The rear seats are at safer without a booster IMO. I won't comply with a law that puts my kids welfare at risk. I think any policeman who looks at the rear of the 996 would know instantly that a booster would make it more dangerous.
Good luck but I think you'll struggle to find anything that improves safety.
Interestingly kids are exempt from boosters for occasional local journeys. Guess what all my journeys are going to be!
Are there any exemptions?
Three exceptions allow children 3 years to 135 cms in height to travel in the rear and use an adult belt:
*
in a taxi, if the right child restraint is not available;
*
for an occasional journey over a short distance, if the right child restraint is not available;
*
where two occupied child seats in the rear prevent the fitment of a third child seat.
Children under 3 years may travel in the rear of a taxi unrestrained if not child restraint is available.

I bought an OPC booster for my 3 year old but there is no way I will put my 7 year old in or on a booster. In the back of the 964 it will ensure broken legs in the event of sudden braking. In the other cars I will not carry them without a seat or booster but as usual the law can be an ass.

I got a 'Britax Trio' for my car .. It's an ugly mother but it does the job .. It's a full baby seat with a 5 point harness that can be converted into a booster seat.
It will be a bit of a squeeze as m'boy gets older ..

HA!! ... Let it be known that the luminous one is a man of infinite taste and wisdom.
Well....... In the child seat department anyway..
Gabby is 3yrs 4 mths and I got a Britax Kid-PLUS to go in the back of the 3.2.
It fits great and is a fantastic seat with side supports for the head aswell. Gabby loves it and so does Vicki, she insists on using it in all the other cars too. It also breaks down as a booster if and when required.
