For those of us who have got a Wortec catback zorst which does not have the option of interchangable boxes (got mine in March - 04 CV8)
Would it be a case of changing for it all for new one? or is there, or could there be a mod done or upgrade option??
Thanks in advance
Iain

You beat me to this question (same position as you) and it's one I'd like to know the answer to as well 'cos I know after Donnington, I'm going to want mine done

Unfortunatly the new system has no parts from the old one....

The new system came about from you the owners wanting more noise and us as a company wanting to give customers an option which was not availiable (loud/quiet)

The origional system was designed to sound good just as a cat back and sound totaly awsome when added to headers...........ask "Booster".......

I think Donnington will help/hinder your options

Hopefully we will have the full range of implementations at Donny... Any sound engineers got gear, we can take recordings and post up to give people some informed choice as to what to expect

Paul, that decat system I have on my CV8 with the headers etc, I think you fitted HSV centre boxes, with no rear box at all. My question, could you fit a diverter so I can run the system as is, or with open headers when I need to frighten people !
System is great, nay awesome, but nothing howls like open headers. Just a thought.

Looks like I'll just have to go down the traditional route and step up to headers then.

Hopefully at Donnington I'll get to see and hear what I can expect if I go for the headers on the original 05 CV8 Sport Pac set up.

However, my life expectancy will drop when my wife learns of my plans..

What about those electric controlled cutouts? Do you do them? I'd definitely be interested in those bad boys

Had my new interchangable box fitted last Friday (no headers - yet) but what a noise - can't describe the smile it gives me every time I start her up.

Scared the hell out of a driver and passenger in a Boxter with the noise (hehehe)

It's like having a new car - go get one is what I say

Paul,
What price are the headers????

Also are there more serious warrenty implications than just having cat back????

The diverter system you mention, how does it work, would it be any use to someone with my set up??? if so a ball park cost????

Also intrested just got the car booked into Greens for the 31st to reverse the modification to the rear end done by my neighbours 7 series and AP brake upgrade. So the wife may not notice an extra switch or the extra on the credit card.

Paul, I'll call you next week. I would like to get the things installed when you can fit it into your schedule. If you have any other good ideas, I'm listening. Am I right in thinking, once the roller rockers are installed I'm up to "serious pac" spec?

One answer I would like still:-
is it going to be possible to get the std Wortec catback exaust modded to a removable centre boxes? one, or is it a case of a substantial diffrence in the design

"featherfoot" As above in an earlier post........

As for dealers up north we are as yet unable to find one that meets our requirements (but that may change)
