Hey the censorship doesn't work when we hit reply. Midnight knock for you sir.

This is what this strange man wrote:
"On Saturday I spent the day (should have been my day off, but my wife’s away, so I can sneak off to have some fun) out near the Wakestock Festival at Abersoch with our ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) team."
For this man "fun" = catching people with the ANPR team. If he is actually a SERIOUS policeman, this work should not be "fun", it should be a sad event catching wrongdoers. I think this example shows the misplaced viewpoint this person has and that he views catching people at odds with the law tantamount to fishing, where he views a lot of "catches" equal to a good day's "sport".
Clearly he views legislation as a means of tripping people up rather than as a means by which we can alll live in peace and harmony with each other. God help us all!

so ... let me get this straight.
Met ban rand und file from "blogging"
Police "management" try to intimidate officers who post und offer excellent advice und show that they are human beings on forums like this.. und we respect their opinions.
But an off-duty PR sort of thing ist "taboo" because officers post true feelings und opinions which in land of free speech they are entitled to - but intimudated if it does not "toe the party line"
Yet Dick Brainstorm can post nonsense like this... und given his comments on legalising heroin.. I dare him to deny it when we have tapes of his garbage...I find it rather strange that he pats himself on the back for nicking a driver in possession of cannabis.

I hate the man's views on road safety as much as anybody here, but I dread to think what sort of people a police force would be attracting if the job wasn't fun.
A happy worker is an efficient worker.

That's what one of his sergeants said when Bluntstropp was a lowly constable...
To be precise, two sergeants conspired to heap praise on him in order to get him moved away to better things....
God help us all if he achieves high office.....quoth one sarge to the other.
Ten years ago, if anybody had said that a Chief Constable would go on public record, comdemning his Home Secretary, I would have told him he was mad....
All those extra toy bobbies are going to stretch the budget.....the makers of worry beads and sun screen must be rubbing their hands with glee.

And only £20 worth of cannabis too ( newspaper report) How little is that?

I have decided to become the UK’s first blogging Chief Constable, starting today. I’ve no idea whether this will work, or how long I’ll keep it going - I suspect that rather depends on you, the readers. If it hits the spot then I’ll keep it up; if not it’ll get ditched like most of my “good ideas”
Right, then...
Speed cameras....
Your idea...
Still here....
So you don't consider them a "good idea", then...?

Ach well.. they did not have to mug an old lady for her pension for that then
Und for "fun"?
I know Parrot of Doom did mention (und I respect his view) that people have to enjoy their work.
Well.. as I do have relatives who are cops.. und all say they are always 24/7 "ambassadors for the profession" - which mean that IG und his siblings consider they are ac
able to the public they serve und that the public they serve expect und require a professional conduct both on und off duty. (und this also seems to apply to doctors/nurses/fire crews/ teachers und politicians as we do expect 100% professional conduct from those paid from the public purse .. und we also expect similar professional conduct from financial und legal as well .. So yes.. I agree we have to have job satisfaction of doing a job well - und to best of our ability as there ist a pride, honour, self esteem, confidence und a feel good factor of "worth" in this und it does not matter what the job is .. from cleaning the police station's cells und loos to the Chief Constable's job. (or equivalent in any institution)
However, it ist not und should never be described as "fun" to try to cop drivers who failed to display VED. They may have purchased the VED disc but forgot to change over discs if they bought in advance. They may have been in hospital und simpy forgotten. There are all kinds of "innocent" reasons - which a professional would use professional judgement over when given a genuine und polite explanation. But then this person by virtue of the fact he has a blog like this whether penned by self or a secretary ist far from "professional" und anyone who claims hard drugs cause no harm und who ist not a doctor nor someone whose day job designs medicines, researches the effects of drugs on human body - und ist a senior policeman who wages war of drivers yet fails to see how such drugs would affect someone in charge of a car - cannot be viewed as a "professional" und should be removed from office with immediate effect.

Um. Are you sure someone's not taking the p*ss, or some tech-savvy cop has put it in (if you had the know how you could make it untrackable) ?
I mean, how wierd and sick do you have to be to spend your day off with an ANPR team ?
Wife's away (is it any bloody wonder), ooh, shall I go down the pub with me mates, watch a DVD with a curry, or go out persecuting motorists ?
I considered setting up a parody site ...... but it's not possible to parody this.
If the aim is to get everyone thinking he's an absolute tw*t and the North Wales Police are wasting time and money on everything except catching criminals - it's a great job. But we all know that already.

Lemme think?

While you're thinking, feast your eyes on this little gem from the Mad Viking's first blog...
the last two people I arrested were fighting with me in the street in Llandudno on Christmas Eve last year; they and I were both (sic) in the cell block at St Asaph when the clock struck midnight, but they apologised, accepted fixed penalty fines and were home with their families by Christmas morning
Read that again....
Do you understand the enormity of this gift from the heavens...?
Yes....
For eighty quid, you can go and hang one on Richard Brunstrom...
Oh, joy...
Form a queue behind me, gentlemen......
This will be the best £80 you've ever spent.....
