hi. a friend of mine wants to buy a gimaera built mid 90´s. what are the weakest points on this cars? i cannot believe that the chassis-outtriggers are still a problem, like on my wedge. these cars are "only" 10 years old and could be so rotten? ax

I'd say outriggers and wishbones are the structural issues. Cam shaft and differential starter motor and radiator come next.

As Bob says....

There was apparently a 'bad' batch of chassis coating arround this time 95-97, so i would always check the chassis in detail. Make sure it's been waxoiled (i have mine done every year at the local dealer), and inspect the wishbones too (i had mine replaced a couple of years ago and mine is a late 96).

The key is buy on condition, not age or milage.

Best of luck.
