It's possible Hobo and I may be there.
I've never been round Outlon, but I've heard it's pretty good on a bike and in a car.

Which group are you guys gonna be in?
Would probably both start in intermediate, no circuit experience. Mark's back from hols soon, so I'll speak to him soon.
Yeah, I might be up for this (Stu - YHM).
Was wanting to do Donnington or Oulton so will do Donnington another time.
Only 4 places left mind so will have to be quick, as I have another mate wanting to go as well.
Bikes going in on Tuesday for regearing & an oil change. Have also ordered a few more bits & bobs which need fitting (new screen, crash protectors, Motrax race grips). Will also possibly need a set of tyres by then so might test the new Dunlop D208RR or even the GP Racers (as most of my time on the bike is spent on track these days).

Normally take the bike in a van & then have loads of room for other stuff like petrol canisters, paddock stands, tools, etc, etc, however have on a couple of occasions riden to track & taken nothing more than a few basics (water, pressure gauge, basic tools, hat, sunglasses, ipod, camera, etc) in a rucksack.
Either way you'll love it.

Thats what I was planning on doing. It's not too far from me but I reckon it makes sense.

I would strongly suggest you do your first session in the novice group. The noive group is not for just for 'slower' riders, but also for people who haven't riden on a track before. Take a session to get used to the line, then ask to be moved up to the inters group. Normally, the inters group has the most 'near misses', as some novices don't like the 'novice' tag, so go in this group, then some riders who perhaps should ride in the fast group like to be the fastest person in the inters group to show how 'quick' they are.
If it's your first time on a track, don't be nervous of asking for a session with an instructor. They can really help you in your first 20 mins or so, and help you get more out of the rest of your day.
No matter how excited you are, you MUST PAY ATTENTION TO THE FLAG SIGNALS. Please don't be one of the several tw@ts who ignore the no-overtake rule on red or yellow flags. This can be very dangerous. Depending upon who you've booked with, they will spend some time telling you all about this though!
Make sure you take some time to get some heat into your tyres before attempting to cane it. Also, if you tink you entered a corner too fast, stay off the brakes, look where you want to go (i.e. not at the armco), and slowly get on the gas, whilst countersteering hard. The bike WILL make it!!
Enjoy your day!
Wise words from Fergus and totally agree with him re: the novice session. If you have never been on a track before regardless of whether in a bike or car it's best to have the WHOLE of your first track day in the novice group to learn lines, braking points and circuit craft, you will be amazed at how different track riding / driving is compared to the road. Your next track day you can move up to the inters and then the fast group for future days when you're ready.
Just enjoy yourself and your day

Just to confirm that when StuB said neither him or myself had any 'circuit experience' he meant experience of that particular circuit. Both of us have now done plently of track days albeit at different venues.
I assume that you are not saying your first visit to a new circuit should be spent in the novice group (or are you ?).
I only ask as I have been to Cadwell now 5 times (I think) & know the circuit quite well & therefore where to brake, etc, and as a result can easily move into the intermediate group & hold my own. A new circuit however would mean learning lines, braking points, etc & therefore I suspect I would be slower.

Stub wasn't clear....you need not go into the novice group purely as it's a new circuit to you but obviously be aware that others may be a bit quicker at first in the inter group if they have knowledge of the circuit.......

Hobo mate, Outlon is a LOT faster than Cadwell and people will generally be carrying a LOT more speed into the corners. It's also a very flowing circuit, unlike bits of Cadwell. There is no harm in spending a single session in the novice group. You will find that when you're 'on it' at Oulton, hen coming out of Druids the bike will shake it's head and buck and weave. Don't attempt a full chat approach on your first few laps. Also you need to hold the bike on the gas going through old hall and island bends, as they are too quick to run wide on if you do bottle it. There is also not a LOT of run off as per some other circuits.
good luck
