Just wondering really as it is the one thing I can find no history of in my cars files. Given it has only done 32k I am not even sure if that means it may still be on its original clutch?

Anyway was interested to know if it is easy enough to be carried out by my local mechanic who I have know for years (and trust) or if it is a TVR specific job?

Cheers

Matt

Nah should be ok, he used to do the odd bit of (non service) work on my old 'S'.

Just checking it is a straight forward job really and not an engine out job.

I was told by David Geralds it takes approx 7 hours for the Rover box cars,or 4 hours with a T5.Approx £700 and £400.Engine stays in.Apparently a couple of mil have to be ground off the Rover casing to drop the box out, hence the labour cost.

I'd go with that John.
I did my brother inlaw's 1998 Chim (so T5 box)on the drive with axle stands at each corner,
in just under five hours. Its a bit of an arse but not beyond anyone with a decent tool kit.
Just my twopence.
Cheers
Paul.

Agreed. Had the T5 gearbox off mine last week. Easy-ish as I had use of a hydraulic lift and second pair of hands.

Remove rear anti-roll bar, exhaust and prop shaft. Remove gearbox (needs a twist to clear the chassis) and Robert's your auntys spouse.
