Just wondering how much one of these would cost.

Got an '02 C2.

Any ideas?

Anyone else had one retro fit?

Anyone had this done? What's your opinion of it? Just wondering if they become tiring to live with/drive with?

About a grand fitted? Anyone got any sound files worth listening to of this? (how sad is it for someone to want to listen to someone elses zorst......?)

I heard what I'm pretty sure was a PSE at a main dealer while it was just being reversed and the sound was just amazing......

as for sound, they all sound different depending on what brand you go for and if you take the cats out etc.

mines actually not that loud compared to some but the zorst on it sounds very different to most other 996's I have heard.

Does it affect the warranty?
How about if you leave the Cats on or off?

Does taking them off cause any other issues?

Is it possibel to get new backboxes that give it a bit more 'rasp' without changing to much of th original set-up. As you can see, I'm a bit new to what can and can't be doen with this. Don't want to change too much, but I sold my 3.2 about 3 weeks ago, and the 996 is so lovely and quiet - but I do miss a bit of 'rasp' - I don't miss the agricultural sound though (before any of the 993 beardies get going......)

I retro fitted a PSE to my 997 - sounds fabulous now it has a few miles under its belt. Cost about £1700 from my OPC.

taking the cats off will make it louder, but you will need to fith them again come MOT time.

for 1700 quid as above post says id say that is the cheapest option and if its all done by OPC they cant say it effects warranty.

Yeah I asked them and they said it's good for warranty .. Funnily though they wouldn't do it without the switch for me.... so I left it.

just put a Tubi on a 997C2S - a little lower cost then the PSE (1400 plays 1800) but prefer the sound - the warranty issue is complex - they cannot void for fitment per se but can argue that it has been causative of the failure of the specific part - all comes down to a question of whether you trust the zorst manufacturer - the further you go with the system the greater the risk - full racing jobbie without cats = problem - minor tweaks and you should be Ok

but if the engine blows you have a problem all ends up

My 02 C2 has a PSE fitted as standard. It sounds fantastic, I would never have another 911 without one fitted and as for the dash switch, it might as well not be there as you will never turn it off. I do a lot of miles in my car and even at high speed on motorways the noise is not at all intrusive.

The best thing is a nice hot sunny day like today - wind both windows down and floor it in every gear - marvelous!

A friend has just had his OPC fit a Sports Exhaust (missed the tick box!) to his 997 C4S for £1,200 all in. Mind you, it is the most option'd up 997 C4S out there I think, currently sitting at around £90K (madness, but lovely!)
