Boys and girls... THAT day is creeping up on us all again... so come on, what's everyone doing?

Myself and Ms Podie aren't huge fans of it (if we can't say that we love each other the other 364 days, what's the point?)... so are taking it easy... DVD at home, a take out pizza and a couple of bottles of Champagne (Heathrow duty free has some bargains at the moment!)

We are just going for a quiet meal at the lovely Italian across the way from us.

The one thing I wont be entering into this year is romance sponsored extortion via roses. I went to a florist last year in Wimbledon Village, and nice though they were I thought £99 for 12 long stem roses and a bit of silk and twig stuff a bit bloody silly really.

See romance isnt dead after all!

This is something that has not been discussed in our household as of yet. I probably won't even get a card

Being happily footloose and fancy free I was going to just go down the pub and get pis**d. However, I have just found out that they are turning my local into a "lovers lounge" for the evening . Blo**y marvellous... Oh well, just have to find another boozer

Whaaaat. Get two dozen red roses. DELIVERED! Taking them yourself isn't any good. Gotta get 'em sent. Watch wife dissolve into tears. Works every time. Bloody marvellous.

God knows why, mind...I'll never understand...I just know it works.

But at least the blasted things die after a couple of weeks and don't clutter up the house - how many presents can you say that of?

Whilst I agree that Roses are a stunningly effective way of saying 'ILY' 'er indoors isnt fussed...Well thats what she says.

On the other hand I have also found dead roses being a marvellous way of saying off!

In your dreams!!! If anyone decent is reffing then the Leicester sorry England cheaters will all be in the bin within 10 minutes. Hopefully it'll be Paddy O'Brien! No I don't know anything about the game, I'm just a FIRA ref!

I think I am being a tad unfair to Fish, now I think about it, I think he did mention something about going out for a meal somewhere. Unfortunately I think I turned it down on the grounds of it being too overpriced just because its the 14th. I'd rather go out the day before or the day after. More fool me.

I would actually be just as happy with a card, a video, and lots of bubbly. So I think that's me sorted now (Although probably not the card.)

Well, I have a restaurant booked, taxi ready, and the afternoon off to get some flowers. Also a [present from Mulberry, but I gave it to her last Friday as she had had a bad day in work, so now I need to find another gift.

I am going to the dentist and girlf is having her wisdom teeth out.

This isn't the drilling and filling I had in mind.

Due to being a long way apart, two dozen white roses are turning up at her place of work.

Red is so passe, don't you think?

I'm not doing anything this year. Last year I bought the mother of all red rose bouquets and a huge card. What did I get? Nothing.

Waste of money anyway. And we've only just been away, ferchissakes.
