Hyundai Coupe
Cute little coupe could prove a hit in the UK
Discussion
I drove a Hyundai once. It was as tinny as a Russian baked bean can. As a cheap alternative to a car, it was okay, I guess.
This lump is obviously *better* than previous efforts, but so what? At this end of the market, marque and general sw@nk value are crucial. Surely cars like the 406 coupe look prettier and come from a better brand, i.e. Pug and Pininfarina? Unless it is extremely agressively priced it won't stand a chance, and who wants to be forced to compete on price?

My parents have a Hyundi Coupe and I was very impressed with its handling and performance. Not upto the sports car standards we all drive but still a very reasonable drive (stearing is a little light but the car does go where your point it)
It certainly is better than some more expensive coupes.
Shadowfax seeing as you post here quite often, with some welcome comments I might add. Is it possible that you add your profile so we know a little about what you drive, where you live etc. Just a thought.
I know what you mean about bland, in that this car isn't an in your face out and out sports car, but it is a good drive for the kind of person its aimed at.
eg my parents. My dad rides a motorbike (BMW 1000), mum used to drive a pug. Retired, want something they can take friends out it, carry small dog in, but has a bit of poke and doesn't handle like the sows ear like the pug did. Name not important as they will keep the car for many years.... the Hyundi Coupe seems the ideal car.
As always, a car is only as good as the audience its intended/designed for.

Why do all these hot hatches now have twin tail pipes. Who did they pinch that idea off i wonder. Or do they all have V8's under their bonnet bulges?
I know, I saw one the other day that had 4 wheels!! Sports cars had 4 wheels years ago.
These chaps should lern that just becuase you have 4 wheels doesn't mean that you have a fast car!
