Clutch slave leaking - Engine out !

Just been told, that my clutch slave is leaking and to get to gear box the engine needs to come out... been advised by garage is 18 hrs of labour at 75+vat plus whatever needs replacing...are all noble dealers labour charges the same?, or is there a cheaper place that anyone can recommended?

Ian, it is an engine out job. Gearbox will have to come right out to access it.

May well also be a bit more than 18hrs, tends to be a fair few things that you find as you go.
Might be worth thinking about tacking on some more work while it's out. Track sump is an obvious one if you haven't one already. Also have a good look at the turbo's to see if there's any play in the shafts. Somewhere like Turbo Technics in N'pton will do an overhaul on them. Roush exhaust maybe ?.... !!

Oh yes, indeed we are all litigious, loud and crude as well.
But over here we can't purchase a Noble as a "turn key" car. All Nobles here have to be put together as kit or component cars. As a result the warrantee is pretty much what the seller puts into writing. 1g only warrantees the cost of parts and only if the car is not tracked, (ours is).
We felt they SHOULD have fixed it for us under "good will warrantee" and were hoping they would do so when they got into the bell housing and saw that it was a bearing failure and not a clutch failure. After all, trying to blame the operator for a clutch slave failure is like trying to blame someone for blowing out a light bulb by flipping the switch too hard.
We were told, and I quote, "Throwout bearings are modified Ford parts and are not warranted. " and "The Limited Warranty will be voided and no longer available if the Replicar is used at any time in any form of speed competition, track events or drifting, whether organized or unorganized."
We were given a deep discout on labour but they did try and back out of that deal after they got the car and opened it up. They sited, "Overall Condition of Vehicle: Appears to have been driven very hard, heavy brake rotor wear, appears to have seen heavy track use." and "Throwout bearing seized and over heated causing seal failure. Excessive clutch disc wear." As if cluth wear could contribute in any way to the bearing failure.
We had to fight to get 1/2 back to what we had agreed upon before our car was transported over 900 miles away.
One could sue or threaten to do so on the basis of "reasonable expectations warrantee". But is it worth risking completely alienating the exclusive importer, parts source and technical information source?
We are disappointed and somewhat bitter but glad to have our car back. Just don't ask us what we think of the ownership experience here in th U.S.

Well, I think that qualifies as a premature failure.
We were told that this was not a problem that Noble's have.
They say that misery loves company but we're sorry for your troubles.
I take it this is not covered under any warrentee for you? Is the car too old or over a milage limit that UK cars have?
