www.trackdemon.co.uk has been sitting as a one page intro for long enough, I want to make a nice clean site which will display my work; nothing overly complex just clean simple and easy to navigate. So question to you web designers - which package would be best for me to learn? (I work in IT but know nothing about web design)

Design is less about the package and more about the creative process..

The tools are nowhere near as important as the vision (and the coding skill)

Dreamweaver is a good start tho.

I've always used Dreamweaver too, it's very user friendly and has a good in built code editor.

Yup, I'm well aware of Eastons stuff through some other forums I visit. I like his site, but for me its just a little too complicated. Sounds like Dreamweaver is what I need!

Why not use something like Gallery http://gallery.menalto.com/ if it's a photo site your after, you'll need a webhost who supports php, mysql etc but it's an excellent open source programme and highly customizable. I use it for my site.

Like the one which sponsors this forum and provides Gallery as a Quick Install option on the VDS Pro

Gallery can be skinned to look very sexy, with great integration into sites possible with a little work.
