Daughter's just has her car broken into (again). British Rail car park with 4 CCTV camersa. Last time was for built-in radio which theiving little gits didn't even steal but just managed to break; this time passenger window smashed and door was damaged, but nothing nicked According to Railway Police the thieves were targetting those cars with suction marks on front windscreen indicative of sat nav etc. Their MO is smash window, shufti under seat, in glove compartment etc and outa there in 15secs with a nice expensive portable sat nav (although not in this particular case). Hoodies up and they just couldn't give a monkey's about cameras. So be warned! And maybe wipe suction marks away before leaving car in public place.

must admit always thought this as an obvious sign. I always carry a spare cloth and wipe the screen before leaving. Oh and also take my sat nav with me.

So did I for homo sapiens, most invertebrates and even some small single cell organelles. But for chavvy thieving gits? I'm impressed... they must be climbing the evolutionary ladder.

I've always been told to take it out the car with me, & also to wipe the suction marks from the screen. It is good advice!
