How to do best 0-60 acceleration.....

I was wondering how to get the fastest 0-60 time. What revs would be the optimal to change gear at for the fastest acceleration?
Anyone?

Generally, if it's somebody else's engine, red line it. Lumbering old Rover V8s are the exception because the torque drops off so quickly it's actually quicker to change up a few hundred rpm earlier. In any case, the first half a second is absolutely critical and makes more difference that the odd few rpm here or there. To get a good time to need warm tyres on a good sticky surface, and push it hard enough to just barely 'chirp' the tyres without actually spinning the wheels. Takes a lot of practice, and done wrong it is very hard on the transmission.
