A friend of mine has asked how to do this and I remember using an app called ephpod before, however that was years back and I'm sure Apple have blocked use of that.

So, if someone got a fairly recently updated ipod (it's a mini if that makes any difference) and wants to get all the music onto a new PC what would you guys recommend?

Thanks for that - might have to use it.

Anyone used one recently that they could recommend?

A package called IpodRip is meant to be quite good. I've downloaded it, but I've not got round to trying it yet. Might be worth a look, though?
