Did you have to pay another deposit your spec

I have just been asked by my dealer for £3,000 deposit now so he can put my spec in for may build and june delivery. I have already payed £1000 last august now this .......... is this normal please let me know asap thanks....
Yes its perfectly normal. The 1K deposit gets you in the queue. £3K (or about 10% I believe) is normal at spec time to secure the build slot.
Think of it this way - when you finally need to pay for the car you'll have to find 4K less.
I paid 1k at time of putting my name on the list.
At speccing time I had to pay 10 percent of the total value less the 1k already paid. I understand this is normal, however if you go for a lairy spec they may want more than 10 percent deposited at the time the car goes status X at the factory.
