Ive done 1200 mls since new and my bumper looks like its done 120000 with the amount of stone chips on it, is this the norm for a 430? my 355 has done 8000 mls and had less on it!!!!!!
Yup! That's normal!
Mine's done 2300 miles since May and it started suffering almost immediately!
Don't worry about it, fortunately Ferraris are one of the few cars that will always either have "just been painted" or "need painting". And as they're ALL like that, no one worries come re-sale time!
My 360 was just the same!
And my 355, that even picked up a stone-chip while being delivered back from the paintshop!

My 355 is very bad for stone chips Every winter i get it sprayed.
Why not clear bra it?
Ferrari is more prone to chipping than any paint I've seen. Last year when we took some cars to Central Australia for a "no speed limit" weekend, both Ferraris needed a front end respray afterwards while the other cars were OK. Both owners have since upgraded to new F430s and installed clear bra before they took delivery. End of paint chips.

Hi Karl.
I notice that you have a gravel drive.
Not Ferrari friendly.
Lovely car though.

You've not seen a Noble then. Their paint is like poster paint.
Quite a few people have gone down the clear plastic routes. On a light colour it can work quite well, but it's a disaster on dark. I don't actually like it full stop, as after a while you see the lines, regardless of the colour. And when it gets in a mess (it will and it doesn't stop all the stones) it's going to be a heart stopping time peeling it off....

looks rubbish and costs too much!!!!!
Maybe not then, ive been told from a Ferrari Sales guy who wants to stay annonymous that the 430 has been more prone to lots of stone chips than most other Ferraris, the Paint might not be up to standard, as it Stands Ferrari UK are looking at the pics ive sent and hopefully doing it under warranty! ive been told about £400.00 if i were to pay for it, is this a resonable price? i thought it was ok really!!!
