My dealer has offered me a fully spec'able delivery slot for end October, as long as I sign up ASAP. Is this a good time, or does anyone reckon that I could get an early 56-plate September car from a Dealer somewhere?

(We're talking XK here, not XKR)

There are nearly new cars available out there, however for a brand new one, that's a pretty early time slot. Was it the coupe or cab you are after?

I was after a coupe. Considering that there is still a decent waiting list, why does WharCar magazine have a "Target Price" of only £54,300, some 5grand off the list? Are there that good a deal to be had already?

No mate, i've only heard of one dealer offering a discount and that's to a massive brokerage. Even then it's only 2%.

It's hard enough getting hold of one, let alone getting a deal on it

I called the whatcar target price team, and they've revised the target price to the list price.

I wonder if they'll do that for all our models?

Yeah - sure, when you guys stop giving discounts
Oh yes, and when Jaguar stop selling them at lower prices in other countries.

You will probably find that it is a cancelled order, inwhich case the Dealership has probably kept the chaps £5k who cancelled it. I would go in the their and say you'll take the car but will not be getting another deposit!

Have you seen this fully loaded one which is on eBay

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/JAGUAR-XK8-CONV

I guess it is one way to jump the waiting list.

I've tried. Also got two agents searching and none have come up with anything.

Will there be any original NEW XK convertible owners(speculators) left by the end of
the week, there are now 4 for sale on ebay between 69-82k and over 20 on Autotrader.
Some used coupes are on at 4k below list already, is the achilles heel of Jaguar residuals
going to strike the new car? with this kind of speculation

Not sure if that says anything about Jag residuals, it sounds more like too many people have thought they could make a quick killing by speculating on the car. If there are now to many of these on the market then the stupid idiots will get their fingers burnt, well good luck to them.

Sadly these morons will cause a residuals problem, they are not symptomatic of one.

I think that it is also probably a lot to do with these people trading in to get the XKR Conv, rather than simply speculators.

Bit of both me thinks. Althought the XKR won't be available untill December.

60/40 split between coupe and convertible production, Jag wanted 50/50 but demand creates supply.

Where are all the coupes then, I've hardly seen any, almost all the new XKs I've seen have been convertibles.

Our order bank is very definately a 60/40 split in favour of coupes. For whatever reason, the cab just seems less desirable?

I have seen a few Coupes and frankly they just look so uncool, definately a ladies car.
