ok got the monaro from a local vauxhall dealer not monaro specialist
slight electrical probs with things not switching off
ok not to worry warrenty covers it
then had accident after being rear ended
waited a month to get the car back
then back in after paint flaked
one day
then speedo prob
booked in checked local dealer can do it
local dealer collect car and return car as they arnt allowed to touch computer
probably why they never reset the service interval warning every time i tell them
then told i have to drive 50 miles to picador for dials and recall on car
which should have been done before i received it
picador want it for 3 days FFS
its a set of dials not the engine
this is getting into jaguar territory for lunacy

my local dealer reset the service light - software for monaro is part of the standard stuff supplied to all Vauxhall dealerships on their cd-rom updates for the device they plug into the computer plug under the steering wheel. There's also an easy way of doing it yourself which has been mentioned on here - something to do with pushing pedals and turning the key.
'normal' dealers can service the Monaro as my localone did and reset the service indicator. Think that the specialist dealers know more about the car and can do warrenty work without cost, normal ones have to charge but can still get the parts.
My local dealer does things like air con recharge as its close and convenient

wasn't even a Vauxhall dealer did repairs on my Monaro last Xmas - did a good job of the bodywork but made a mess of the paint job. Now waiting on House of Color getting me more info on a nice copper colour paint I picked out at the motor fair up here. If the assessor comes back to me and tells me the paintwork needs redoing then I may go for a change of colour at the same time - I'll buy the paint they can pay for the respraying.
