Police & Young Women
Discussion
Ok, how come a 21 year old female friend of mine who flirts with police when stopped always gets away with everything? Surely they are meant to be a little fairer than that? Every time I get stopped, I'm courteous and polite and always get shagged up the arse. Hell even Harriet Harman who's hardly a looker gets done for 99, when I know I'd have been done for the real speed (and have been done for 106 when trying to elude a white van that had attached to my bumper)!
The other day my friend was stopped for doing 50 down Oxford street (alledgedly, as it seems unlikely even at 3am), she was found to be untaxed (shes a muppet and forgot), and then they breathalised her (clear). I can't believe she didn't get done for either the speeding or the tax.
No justice in this country. If you want justice you have to have a pile of cash behind you, or be young, female & good looking.
Know of a real cracker -
Young girl where I work was driving to work on her own with only a provisional licencse. Would also mean no insurance.
She crashes into a lamp post, don't know how but she managed it.
Local
arrive & she ends up getting a lift into work off them! Never asked to see her license or anything!
Feel like making a complaint about them as that must border on total negligence! Surely standard procedure would be to at least check the license, insurance etc!

These comments are typical of the why should somebody else attitude in thes place at the moment...
I carnt believe the she got away with it so im going to complain...
Its just the police exercising discretion that we all want them to be able to do. i expect in their profesional assesment she had learn her lesson and would not repeat the offence. Where as the average young lad that smaks his car up is very likly to do it again so probably needs to be delt with more harshly..
Although on the other hand my mates missus is a hard core girl racer, and every time she gets stops she flashes her eyebrows and says sorry it my boyfriends car and its a bit faster than by 850 mini...
yeah right the nutter car is hers.

Well unless they have the body of a taiwanese lady boy (did you *see* tarrant on tv tonight!
) I guess the outcome would be swift (and justified) arrest! lmao!
I do hate the blatant sexism given out by coppers (I know loads of lasses around my age - (17-24) that have been let off, simply cos they have boobs!) however I've still got a clean licence so I must be doing something right (probably picking all the gay coppers! lol)
(although the last time I was stopped, the cute WPC certainly had a good look!! if the male hadn't have come back I'm sure I could have done a mungo!!
)

So it's quite all right to drive without a license & no insurance?
What if she'd hit YOU instead? Where would you be then?
Police discretion (not exercised enough these days) is one thing but how can you even attempt to say driving unlicensed & uninsured is anything but totally unacceptable? This is a whole different ball game to talking about minor speeding offences etc & those guilty of it should be up in front of
asap. >> Edited by Mad Man on Friday 14th February 12:05

You haven't been given the full facts. They will have had to fill in an accident report book because other property was damaged (if the lampost was infact damaged). The local authority will need the details of the insurance she has to claim for the repair.
If an accident book was filled out, she will have been given a form to produce her documents within 7 days.
There is no way around this as when the enquiries from third parties start arriving at the Admin Accident Stats dept, they will need to have details of insurance etc to pass onwards. If you fail to do this simple procedure, you will be told to go and get the details in any case so it much easier to do it at the time.
I have given many people lifts after accidents which have left them stranded. Some of them may have been attractive young females
. Some were unattractive fat businessmen in their 50's
Unless you saw what actually happened, then take any hearsay reports with a pinch of salt.
You can register a complaint at any time you like and it will be looked into. Once a complaint is made there is no other way to deal with it.
Complaints may be informally resolved if the complainant agrees, otherwise they are all fully investigated.
To attract a complaint from simple lack of basic procedure would be extremely foolish indeed.

Unless of course you are blessed with a 40 'B' cup

40b y'say? I guess that would look like two fried eggs in a carrier bag!
(shudders at the thought!)
What worries me Dave is that you know so many young women who indulge in behaviour that means they get stopped by the police so often. You must hang around with a right bunch of jail-bait heffers!
Or do you live along York Way just behind Kings Cross?

Bloody hell Dan !! You get shagged up the arse 'EVERY' time you get stopped ! Do you carry some lubrication now just in case ? Perhaps if you were even more polite to the Officer he may just blow you and have done with it ?
Sorry .......

Yes, this sort of discrimination / favouritism is just a small part of the corruption that goes on in this country all the time.
However...would you prefer a speed scamera that catches you no matter what the time of day, how clear the road is (the clearer the road is, the safer it is and therefore the faster you can drive!)?
There's no discretion with a camera (but no corruption either, apart from the fact that the tax-raisers shouldn't be there in the first place).
