Oil cooler spare anyone???

Hi all...I need an oil cooler for my '96 4.2

Any 235mm cooler will do. 19 row is way over capacity.

4.2s use 16 row, 4.5s use 19 row

Ahhh, there ya go. tbh the 19 row is total overkill and as the engine are pretty similar output wise I doubt the extra rows help.

16 rows are cheaper too, though could prove tricky to get to the hose ends when fitted.

I can't ind a 256mm oil cooler on the net anywhere...Please Please help my cause...i'm getting frustrated by this one as I don't want to spend £250 on a TVR unit when many others are £50 to £80 for a very slightly smaller width.

Demon Tweeks Motorsport catalogue, page 302. Mocal 16 row oil cooler. Ooops sorry, it is a 235mm one, not a 256mm one as previously said. Definitely because thats the one I bought. 16 row (122mm) by 235mm matrix, £71.23 plus VAT. The 19 row one for the 4.5 is listed too, but as mentioned its overkill for a road car. I think the standard end fittings are 1/2" BSP but you should double check this.

Think auto supply ALL these coolers now. DT buy them from them as they are the Mocla suppliers. The orginal Sereck Speed manufacturers don't exist.

The 235mm, 19 row, 5/8 BSP male fittings unit is the one you're after (for a 4.5) assume 16 row for 4.2 but you will also have to check the threads ont eh fittings.

Think auto are also cheap £80 is all in for the 19 row. Or cheaper for me with my discount.

Matt, where did you get 256mm from? Its just I measured mine when removed and it was 235mm top to bottom - the rows dimension affects the width as looking at it from the front. 235 is a standard oil cooler size so it made sense at the time. Plus it did fit perfectly into the oil cooler bracket plate.

Ahhh, could be 235mm then. Dunno where I got 256mm from. Too many numbers in my head.
