I have run out of patience with my mini disc player and the time it takes to transfer files from PC to MD so I am going to buy a front loading CD player. Does anybody know if most 4 channel CD players will fit in terms of the size of the hole in the dash and the wiring? I have a 2003 996. Thanks for your help!!

An 03 model year car should have the "MOST" system. Therefore swapping headunits is not simple. May be advisable to speak to a specialist before buying a new headunit.

Hi - if you're car has got 'MOST' (which Porsche implemented from 02), it's a bit of a nightmare to replace the OEM kit. You will need to remove the amp (under the bonnet) and run copper cables thro' the bulkhead as the two are fibre optic linked; if you've got a CD changer, this is also fibre optic linked and will therefore not work. Makes a terrible mess of the car if not done properly; I'm just in the process of getting my 996TT back to standard!

Thanks Guys! Sounds like I should pay a trip to my local Porsche Centre and see what they can supply rather than messing about with the electrics (the wife will just have to wait for a new washing machine!)
