If I zip something, upload it to my webspace, and someone without winzip downloads it, will windoze automatically unzip it?

I think XP has a version of WinZip bundled into the operating system... but whether it would unzip it automatically is another question ....you can however create a self-extracting zip file.

XP and 2000 will unzip it by default 95/98 not supported and I'm unsure of ME. Why not create a self extractring zip?

Mostly because I don't know how, but also becasue I'm using an 'evaluation' copy of WinZip from 1922 which doesn't seem to give me the option.

Thanks for the help guys

That's kind mate... but I am on two paper cups and a bit of string for an internet connection, and it's a 19 mb file, so will take... um... about 5 hours to send.

Next month I move house and get 4.5 mb broadband. (Sound of deep sigh of relief)
