Not discussing the so-called "secret" means of getting into the boot is known as "security through obscurity", and in every other industry is well-known as being pointless. The bad guys already know, people. And even if they don't, how long do you think it takes to wrench open a plastic boot lid? If you want a secure car, don't buy a convertible.

Security through obscurity may be pointless in your opinion Zumbruk, but it becomes a self-fulfilling prophesy by people posting it directly on a public forum.

The thread was closed for good reason - why start another on the same topic?

Fair enough baddies may know the way in, but any would be scum bags may do some research and decide to have a go. IMHO it should not be published openly or any hints.

It isn't on the same topic. It wasn't a good reason and security through obscurity is pointless no matter where it's practised.

Yeah, I have to agree Malc. I found out about this from an old thread on pistonheads, before I bought my Chimaera. Had I been so inclined, and had appropriate knowledge of alarm systems, maybe I could have got myself a Chimaera much more economically!

ABBTVR can't you just delete all references to these subjects rather than just closing the threads?

Can't we just leave this subject alone...?
