ok i'm going to sell my car
cue wailing and gnashing of teeth
after a year of ownership and spending 6k on new parts not to mention around 1000hrs of labour i'm going to sell it
why you all scream in despair ?
because i've just found a v8s with a dead engine and want to build an S with a decent modern motor in
i love the v8s it's a great car but i really would like a modern powerplant and gearbox along with power steering and most importantly traction control
this means stripping the s down to nuts and bolts and rebuilding the whole thing
my car is just to good to chop up for a project - it's only done 45,000 and has had loads of cash chucked at it recently , i'd rather start with a blank sheet of paper and no guilt at hacking about a perfectly good tvr
so i'll stick an advert on piston heads soon unless any one here wants it
i'll take 9k cash or i'll take an interesting cheap part ex and the remainder in money
any takers ?

Good news! Sounds very interesting. What have you got planned?

Wish I could find the time/space/funds (delete as applicable) to do something like this - quite fancy the idea of a BMW straight 6 and a 6 speed gearbox in an S.....

nissan skyline engine
or ls1
i'm inclined to go with the nissan lump as they are a solid 350hp with very little modding and i love the turbo rush

Top project.

What about a BMW 4.4V8. They are an absolute dream of an engine.

Richard

Sounds an interesting project, keep us posted on how it goes. Are you going to build in direction finding to Cotswold pubs?

Reb,
Why? You must get bored easy! Your V8 looked lovely in May.
Keep us posted on any developments!

yep i get bored quick
the car is nice and i've spent loads of cash and time on it
i like the convertable bit and the extra lugage space compared to my cobra,i love the retro looks
but the whole tractor engineering thing is a bit old hat
the v8s just needs bringing up to date to make it a perfect car
besides having a crap office job i like to spend the winter building stuff to play with in the summer
a man's got to have a hobby
it used to be girls and drink but with a long term partner and a failing liver i think i best stick to car and bike projects
hope you are all enjoying the summer
