I am just loving the weather, and driving the Chim whenever possible, but i do find that the combination of the heat and the leather seats (mine have the "Tetley" perforations in them) causes the above mentioned condition.

This is not good when i am going to a business meeting.

Anyone got a solution, or shouold i go back to using the Rangie with its fantastic air con?

Just lean forward slightly a few hundred yards before parking, air flow should be enough to dry you off

Lean forward, and put your (short) shirt sleeve over the drivers door. The resulting waft will send a comforting billow to your shirt back, and will dry it out also.

Stop the car near a cliff. Pull the shirt over your head and take a long walk.

Alternatively, Fk the meeting and continue enjoying what life's all about !

I still can't believe we're telling an adult how to dress ?
Amazing how you manage to drive at all without mummy tieing your shoelaces up !

Same problem.

Couple of layers of towels "sort-of" works for me.

Leven used to advertise a plug in Heated Seat Cover, and the ad used to say "cooling version available for Summer" - I've been searching for the last hour and I'm bd if I can find it. One in the US called Cool Breeze looks interesting.

Edited to add: Found one here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Magic-Cool-SEAT

Edited to add: Just bought the same one from another seller - £10 cheaper than the above - if anyone's interested I'll post a review when I get it.

Cool shirts exist for bikers.. a tshirt that runs coolant around it to help you keep cool..

Something like this might be an idea..

Get a beaded seat cover. And to finish the look put a couple of doilies and a gold plated tissue box on the parcel shelf!

One warning I do have for some colour seats is to watch out for colour coming off on your clothes. The red stripe on my Elan's seats in hot sticky weather sometimes stain my clothes. The Chim seems fine with cream leather. A towel could be a more comfortable cover. (colour coded of course )

Cooling seat cover has arrived, and I just did a quick test in the Chimaera.

Firstly a plus, power lead is on the right so no need to have power cord running under your legs.

Looks : It's a seat cover - nuff said really, plus it's black! In any case, it's unlikely to be left on the seat when not really required because it'll absorb heat all on it's own! If it works, then my view would be that looks are really not that important.

Size : the cover is not a bad fit onto the standard Chimaera seat. Initially it looks like it is going to "boost" the occupant, but this is not the case when you sit in it.

Comfort : just sitting on the cover it feels very comfortable. Essentially, you could describe it's make up as being like one of those beaded seat covers, but with a black cover on it and padded up the sides. It is more comfortable than a beaded seat cover though.

Cooling : the important bit. I have only had time to do a quick static test, but it does appear to make a difference.
You can certainly feel cool air moving in the seat base (bum) area, and there is a distinct difference in the two speeds.

Regarding the seat back - not sure here. The airflow is certainly much less in this area than the seat base, perhaps this is by design (to avoid muscle problems from a "draught" perhaps???), so initially it doesn't appear to be that effective.

However, after sitting for a while I can say that I remained very comfortable, in both a physical and temperature level way.

My concern is that maybe there is not enough airflow to combat "sweaty back, wet shirt" syndrome completely - if that is the case then I will probably take it apart to attempt modification!

Extensive testing will follow.

Initial review conclusion - looks promising, but not totally convinced (yet!).

More later.
