Picked up my new 4.3 1993 Chim a couple of weeks ago, drove it home, it cut out a couple of times changing down for roundabouts during the first 10 miles but was fine after that (prob my driving), fuel was low and apart from the odd test drive has probably been stood at the showroom for a while. Will keep an eye on that given the posts on another thread, but seems fine now. Anyway took the wife for a quick spin - she loves it - then put it in the garage for 9 days while we went on holiday.

While driving to holiday destination saw a convoy of a Tuscan, Chimaera and T350 on the M1, great miss-fire sound from the tuscan as the driver came off the gas as it slowed up for traffic ahead. 3 more Chims spotted on the way, Jeez turining into a TVR spotter.

Got back from Holiday on Sunday went to start her, and nothing. Got the wife and next door neighbour to help push the car out of the garage as drive is on an slight incline and the garage wall too close to the passenger door to gain access to get to the battery. After an hour of charging she started up first time and went for a spin to get the battery charged up further.

So, decided to get an Accumate (amazingly their building is on the same industrial estate where I work so saved £5 P&P) went for the 2m extension cable as I prefer to permanently connect a lead to the battery with a built in fuse rather than run it through the cigarette lighter.

So the question is how and where to plumb the trailing wire and where to leave the connecting plug. Any suggestions, advice greatly appreciated.

Apologies for long post, far too exicted about new toy.

In mine the wire runs down the n/s of the car under the carpet and emerges in the boot. The charger itself is velcro'd to the vertical bit above the tank along with the plug.

That's a pop on the overrun, not a missfire

You can also do this by driving at 4-5k revs, and lifting off (nice straight line though)... Makes a lovely pop and bang noise.. Oh, try and do it in tunnels as well...

My magic figure is 3500 revs.
