Been thinking of renovating my sad S3 for some time now and after finding out my outriggers are shot decided might as well go the whole hog.
A few questions for some of you that have tackled this.
Can you buy the outriggers ready to weld on.
Also need to adress a couple of 'stars' on the bonnet, whats the best way to repair these.
When all is done does anyone know of a reasonable (cost) sprayer around the Gatwick area.
Finally is it worth it or am I better off selling it for around £1500 and buying another.

Take it to Austec, they are just of park royal they can sort the lot for reasonable money

Phoned them and they quoted upwards of £1200 just for the outriggers

My only thoughts about buying one with a sound chassis is knowing how sound it is. You don't know what that fresh paint could be covering up so that's why I went for a cheap S3 that needs outriggers soon.

Know what you mean, my chassis looked really solid last year but it was obviously rusting through from the inside, I was really shocked when checking underneath it looked like something had hatched out of it

no the outriggers are not be made as you have no idea how bad the damage is ,if you can't weld but know a local garage or friend who can it's not too bad taking the body off your self and paying someone to do the welding there are loads of threads on this i have info on my web site also

I paid £300 for 2 outriggers and part of the tubing behind the wheel to be done, acid etched primed too.

got a couple of stars on my bonnet as well and any information appreciated
I know it will have to go to the respray but I would like to make sure the paint is not going to fly off as I cruise around. Respray might be too £££ for me at the moment...
