i have applied for a job down that way and would like to know what the cost of living is like before i go to the interview so i can have a good idea of what salary to ask for .

Also how much is it to rent a say 1/2 bedroon flat per month ?

Not from Perth but I spent 5 months there last year working on my tan, staying with my brother who lives there.

Whereabouts in Perth do you want to live?

Looks like about $100 a week or so 35 quid or so.

Bare in mind you can buy a new 3/4 bed house for about £40K

Cost of living - excellent
Salaries - pretty grim in comparison.Don't expect too many trips home unless you've got some good savings to get by on!

Housing is alot cheaper than Sydney which will certainly help.

Ahh Perth!

Try and get a place North of the river, as they are cheaper and you can get into town easier.
Also you dont have the morning "rush hour" traffic across The Narrows bridge, although they have widended it so it should be better.

South Perth is a nice place to live although a tad expensive, relative to Perth anyway.
Wages will be pretty low, as cost of living is cheap as chips.

Perth is a great place to live, where apart from the weather the beaches, bars and babes are ace! I will say however that if you are from even a mid sized town, like Watford, Wigan or say Poole you will find Perth extremely dull after a year or so.

Once you have done the beaches, BBQ, Freemantle coffee shops, Swan river walks, Rotnest island (a must in end of uni season!) there is not much to do.

went to perth for the world rally. bit more expensive than tassie but the place was awesome. everyone was laid back and friendly and lot of gorgeous women there. you should have an awesome time
