IM A NEW TVR OWNER JUST GOT A 1986 350I.ITS RAN BRILL UP UNTIL FEW WEEKS AGO WHEN IT JUST DIED FOR NO REASON AT ALL. AFTER GETTING HALF OF THE WIRING LOOM AND RELAY BOARD DANGLING TO CHECK WHY THE FUEL PUMP WASNT WORKING WHEN THE IGNITION WAS ON, I HAVE FOUND OUT IT WORKS DIFERENTLY TO WOT I THOUGHT. SO NOW BASICALLY THE FUEL PUMP IS WORKING OK AND AS IT SHOULD. I HAVE PUT NEW PLUGS,CAP AND ROTA ARM ON IT I HAVE ALSO FIT A NEW FUEL FILTER BUT STILL THE ENGINE WILL RUN FOR ONLY A FEW SECONDS THEN STOP. SOUNDS LIKE FUEL STARVATION COS WHEN ITS STALLED IT TAKES A WHILE TO START AGAIN BUT THEN STALLS AFTER A FEW SECONDS. FUEL IS GETTING TO THE RAILS AND ITS NOT LOSSING ITS SPARK DONT KNOW WOT ELSE TO TRY. PLUS I REALLY MISS DRIVING IT COS ITS BEEN NICE WEATHER!! MANY THANKS

Secondly, please turn off your caps-lock, as all upper case is considered to be 'shouting'
Third, I'd advise you to get the Steve Heath TVR bible, along with a Rover Vitesse manual.

Hi Gary and welcome to the mad house.
The first thing to do is get under the bonnet and under the front of the car and check every wire and connection you can find, remove clean and tighten every connection. to put thing in simple terms lot of stuff relies on alot of other stuff under the bonnet,as you have found out for example the fuel pump only runs when the AFM flap is open. I had a similar problem with a 350 it turned out to be a small wire off the starter motor. Steve Heaths Bible is a must along with a Haynes manual for say a 3.5 V8 Disco or Range Rover. See how you get on and post more details on here someone will help you

GREAT NEWS!! it runs... dickymint you were spot on. checked all the wires to the ignition module on the side of the dizzy to find 1 spade terminal had broke inside. quick fix with a new terminal then disrupted all the neighbours with a sweet sounding v8.(the best sound in the world!!) many many thanks for all the replys and helpful hints.. gonna go and tear some roads up now. cheers guys.
