on a base 997 ordered from an OPC, can anybody tell me how late you can cancel and still get your full deposit(s) back?

I'm thinking about buying a secondhand higher spec car for the same money....

I'd guess before the OPC confirmed the spec with Porsche UK and thus the facory starts ordering the bits from their suppliers. Think the term used for finalising the spec is "status X".

Are you buying the used car from the same OPC you have the deposit with?

Have a read through the small print on the back of your confirmation paper work. It's all explained there

If you've paid your £3K deposit its refundable until the point of sepcifying your options and paying 10% remainder of the balance. I was told when I purchased my 997s from Cardiff OPC that I could get a refund but only until I parted with the 10% remainder of balance and it would not be possbile there after.

I guess thats the same for every OPC?

reason for asking was.... I was rather tempted by this

but looks like I'll have to take delivery off my base Carrera then (more or less same money).... I suppose worse things can happen!

Have you spoke to your dealer. They may be able to sell the car on to someone on the waiting list?

...no, i'd rather not, I went around the houses during the ordering process, plus I had previously cancelled a 911 order and this time I went in to order a Cayman, came out with the Carrera...cancel this one and the dealer will think I'm a complete *an*er!
