Just replaced the big fuse as i was having rev counter probs and everthing works fine, so thought i might source a few spares. I have found the fuse in a vehicle wiring catalog but there are two ratings, continuous and fusing. Does anyone know which one i need to quote when ordering?

Get to a decent motor factors and take an old one with you, should be no more than 50-60p ea. Buy 10 and keep em in the ashtray.

What a fidly job replacing this fuse is.
I've only just managed to get the cover off the fuse holder (it was cable tied closed).
Really got a job to get my hand down there.
Just ordered some fuses off ebay - few quid for 10 delivered. Hopefully they're the correct type.
Anyway, any tips for getting the fuse out and replacing it without dropping any bits etc?
Gonna have a tackle this weekend.
For now, the Accumate is keeping her charged between drives!

quite easy really - my fuse box was also cable tied but I then really cracked the box changing the fuse - doh. So need a new box some time.
Tips:-
1) Ensure you have a stick with a small strong magnet on it - good for grabbing the nuts n washers when u drop them AND also good for putting them back on it get them in place and give them half a turn.
2) Wrap the socket in lx tape to stop arcing.
3) Ensure the new fuse is really well seated.
4) Ensure the nuts are well tightened
5) Ensure battery is fully charged afters.

Oh bugger.
Got stuck on the motorway for 45 minutes this morning - blisteringly hot as well. Air Con on, blower at max, radio on to listen to the travel news, rad fans kicking in and out constantly. Driving for 10 minutes before getting onto the motorway and still had another 45 minutes driving after the hold-ups. Just as I was getting to where I needed to go.... she died on me. Coasted into a car park (very lucky it was there) and had to call the RAC. Forgot all about my battery and the fact that it was not being charged by my alternator - Doh!!
It was over 2 hours before the RAC chap arrived. I told him that I was awaiting a 100A Strip fuse for my alternator as it wasn't charging the battery and this was the most likely cause. He checked and verified that it was the fuse and proceeded to put together a temporary fuse using a 100A Blade fuse and some soldered wires and crimps - as he didn't have a 100A strip fuse. What a top job he done, and in no time she was up and running again.
My Strip fuses arrived this morning to, and I was going to replace it tomorrow. Sods Law!

Actually that's a good idea - all you need to do is to modify it with an in-line 100A fuse. Then it's safe as well.
That sounds like a great idea, perhaps one of those aftermarket stereo system fuses would go high enough?
some have tried these, i have one, but people said they 'fuse' at 60amps..
