Never really been in to bike motorsport before but really loving it at the moment!

Can somebody please explain the score with regards to the many events which are televised? I know MotoGP is kind of seen as the F1 of the biking world, is this correct?

I sound like a right novice - this is essentially the case...

Also, watched BSB at the weekend but understand MotoGP was at LagunaSec - didn't see it advertised on TV?

Yes Moto GP is probably teh biking equvelant of F1. The bikes are one offs Prototypes if you like and are bristling with technology. Ther eare rules obviously but not regarding things like frames. you don not have to produce a certain amount of road bikes etc etc

WSB uses motobikes based on actual road bikes. there are rules stipulating what you can change or what you can't.
Probably equates to touring cars? ther are rules which state you have to have at least 500 road bikes up and running unless you named foggy petronas then you can do what you want.

BSB is simular to WSB rules may vary a little but its just based obviously on British tracks.

Anyone please feel free to correct me on any mistakes

Pretty much bang on there. I think the BSB rules allow slightly more mods than WSB, but it's negligable. I know Yamaha would not have been allowed to run the 'big bang' engine it ran in BSB last year in WSB, but that's just a case of firing order. If you've never seen or heard MotoGP bikes, get yourself to Donington next year. It's amazing how much noise such a tiny engine can make

Thanks all... really enjoying the bike racing at the moment, it's so much more fun than F1 - really feel on the edge of your seat during some of the races... Also, the riders have so much more character than F1 - really interesting mix of personalities...
