Does the 'rent a room' scheme apply to us renting a rom to the business does anyone know? I am guessing not otherwise everyone would be doing it by now..unless they are but haven't told me.
I would expect that would be totally outside the spirit of the legal meaning of "lodger" and would therefore not be covered by the "Rent a Room" provisions.
I am pretty certain that the "tenant" has to be a human person rather than a "legal" person.
