chimaera central locking

having major problems with alarm and central locking on my 1998 5litre chim. It has a META alarm fitted, when push button on key fob attempts to lock doors but doesn't, also when pressin fob to take alarm off doesn't operate locks but disarms alarm, very annoying when roof and windows up as makes getting into car damned awkward. Help! jon.

First thing to check are the push switches in the door shuts. If either one of these isn't working then the door locks won't work properly.

Do you have the same probs when locking from inside car? If not, give Carl at www.tvruk.tv a call - the TVR alarm man - very highly recommended and knows about TVR electric in general.

Agree with Theaxe,
Check that you get a clunk when you press the door buttons located on the sill each side.
If you don't then the alarm will think that one or both the doors is open and therefore will not lock.
Easy to remove and clean, just one self tapper and then clean with emery cloth.
If both buttons do produce a clunk, try disconecting the battery for 30 seconds then reconnect.
Sometimes the logic gets its knickers in a twist and disconnecting the battery usually returns everything
back to normality.
