Am I just being uncharitable here, or do people like this bring it on themselves?
Police are appealing for information after a woman was attacked and conned at Nottingham's Midland railway station.
The 28-year-old was in the drop-off section of the station when she was approached by a woman selling 'gold' jewellery, and agreed a price of £150 for a chain, ring and bracelet. She went to a cashpoint - and was punched in the face by a man after her money.
The man walked away when a passerby intervened. The woman was shaken but went back to buy the jewellery.
But when she took the jewellery to be valued, she was discovered it was fake gold.
PC Liz Illingworth, of the British Transport Police, is appealing for witnesses.
She said: "The lady was conned into buying this jewellery. She later discovered it to be nothing more than metal.

I was always very cynical about the "That's Life"/John Waites type TV and radio shows, until one time when I was working as a salesmen. A colleague pointed out how good these shows are at demonstrating the ability of the general Joe in the street to be a complete numpty......

jondokic said: What is it about Nottingham station. Always full of numpties and nutters. And if you were thinking of asking if I had 74pence for the fare to Spondon. NO I DO NOT! SOD OFF!
Tell me about it, I have never known anywhere that has more beggers than Nottingham. The place is full of 'em
