I'm thinking that epoxy would be the best. The insulation I'm using is made by Thermo Tec and consists of aluminum covered fiberglass mat.

Appreciate any ideas.

This seems a good place to ask a related question.
Chris, where did you get the silver tape you use to edge the insulation?
Thanks
Steve

Instead of using the edging tape, you can cut out the shape you want an Inch bigger all round. Then glue 2" all around the outside and just fold it over an inch. But you will need to do this prier to fitting it, and it will need to have a wieght on it for an hour or so. Finished result is realy nice.

In the USA the high temperature foil adhesive backed tape is sold at Lowe's and Home Depot.

You can get it from Wallingford Raceparts for 5 quid a roll. Demon Tweeks do some but it's a lot more expensive!

I tried using epoxy to bond the insulation and it works great. I'll try some 5 minute epoxy tomorrow, mix a small amount on the engine cover fix the insulation and repeat at regular intervals.
